Pupil premium
What is Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to state-funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and help close the gap between them and their peers. Schools receive this funding based on the number of pupils who have:
-
been eligible for free school meals at any point in the last six years (“Ever-6 FSM”), or
-
been looked after by the local authority (or previously looked after), or
-
been registered as children of armed-forces families (service children).
Funding Allocation (2025–26 rates)
| Category | Annual amount per eligible pupil |
|---|---|
| Primary-age pupils (Ever-6 FSM) | £1,515 |
| Looked-after children / previously looked-after children | £2,630 |
| Service children (service pupil premium) | £350 |
